The Idea.
Wine all the Way grew from a simple thought: wine becomes even more interesting once it starts to connect with life around it. With people. With places. With food, travel, culture, study, work, and all the moments in between. We wanted to create a space where wine feels approachable and well considered at the same time. A place for curiosity, for structure, and for the kind of knowledge that helps rather than overwhelms. Not the final word on wine. Just our take carefully put together, and meant to help you shape your own.
Our Take.
We like wine with context. With stories. With a sense of place. With a little system, when system helps. And with enough openness to leave room for surprise.
So this is what we build: curated resources, thoughtful formats, and small tools for people who want to explore wine at their own pace whether for pleasure, study, or professional growth.

Hello, I’m Thomas
As one of the two co-founders, I’d like to warmly welcome you to Wine all the Way. My journey into the world of wine began during my studies: Inspired by a study abroad program in France, Birgit and I founded a student wine club in Bayreuth. For two and a half years, we organized monthly wine tastings in collaboration with a local wine merchant. The response was fantastic, especially in a region that’s more known for beer. It was all about grape varieties, regions, wine styles, and the joy of discovering new things together.
Even after graduation, wine remained a part of our lives. Birgit and I traveled to wine regions, discovered new wine styles, and enjoyed wine at home or on the go with friends. During this time, wine was less of a central hobby and more of a delightful companion while traveling, during meals, in conversations, and in everyday life.
Starting in 2020, my interest grew more intense. I discovered Coravin. The system allowed me to taste wines over a longer period of time, without pressure and without worrying about oxidation. This enabled me to compare wines more effectively, revisit them later, and gain a deeper understanding of them step by step. During this time, I also began storing my first bottles, looking forward to enjoying them in the future.
Compared to Birgit, my approach to wine is more analytical. I’m particularly interested in how a wine fits into the bigger picture: origin, grape variety, climate, aging, style and context. In February 2026, I completed the WSET Level 2 Certificate in Wines. A wonderful first step into the vast universe of wine knowledge! For me personally, knowledge makes wine more accessible and, as a result, more enjoyable. Today, my Wine Way means above all: a global wine journey. I want to get to know different regions, grape varieties, and styles, to discover and enjoy wine, whether alone or with others, with joy, and to always remain curious.
This led to our current chapter in the Wine Way: After many years working in marketing, Birgit and I decided to place wine, travel, art, and culture more firmly at the center of our lives. Wine all the Way is the result: our joint project and, at the same time, an expression of our own Wine Ways. What unites us is curiosity, a love of indulgence, and the desire to continue on our wine journey step by step.
Hello, I’m Birgit
I am one of the two founders of Wine all the Way. My own way to wine began during my studies in Bayreuth. That is where I met Thomas, and together we spent a semester abroad in Nantes, France. There was a wine club for students there, and that is how we discovered the topic of wine for ourselves. Back in Bayreuth, we built up a student wine club together with a local merchant. We regularly organised tastings with different focuses on grape varieties and regions.
After our studies, wine remained part of our lives. As a companion on travels, during evenings with friends or with a good meal. And whenever the opportunity arose, we visited wineries or attended wine tastings.
Thanks to Thomas, we’ve been delving deeper into the world of wine again for several years. But my approach to wine remains rather intuitive. Thomas likes to compare, classify and think in structures. I tend to ask: How does this wine come across? What food does it pair with? Where does it come from, and what makes the winemakers behind it tick? What else does the region have to offer? And above all: do I like the wine?
What I find fascinating is the topic of food pairing. I enjoy cooking and trying out new dishes. Then I like to look at: which wine goes with it, and why? How can it perfectly complement the food, or conversely: how does the dish affect the wine’s flavor? Here too, I take an interest in the conventional rules and then enjoy trying out the more unconventional combinations. That is why I am very happy with our Wine Buddy.
Beyond that, I love being able to connect wine with the other things that interest me: travel, art, culture, architecture and photography. I am happy that with Wine All The Way I now have a platform to show my pictures. Professionally, I come from a marketing background. Today, I also work as an AI consultant. I bring this perspective to Wine all the Way as well: in terms of ideas, content, digital formats, and the question of how we can make wine knowledge accessible in a personalized and contemporary way.
How we work
Wine all the Way is created and curated by us, Thomas and Birgit. Our topics grow out of our travels, tastings, studies and the questions we encounter along the way. We use AI selectively to help structure and produce some formats. The research direction, personal perspective, editorial decisions, review and final approval remain with us.
